Exam season

Bonjour ,

Evening readers, as you may know for many school kids it is indeed exam season and everyone is working really hard. For some reason laziness has inhibited my body and I have no desire to study which is a fool's game because I have ONE shot to do this and do it well. As I write I am sad. I am sad because there seem to be so many deaths around me and I keep thinking what is the point of education? I've spent more than 10 years in the education system and in the end I will be waiting for a piece of paper that is going to 'determine' my future. Do I agree with it? No. However, education is the difference between you and the other person going for the same job.
Education is not about knowledge anymore, it is about memory. It's not about what you know or what you have been taught, it is about how much information you can retain and then being able to regurgitate it on a piece of paper. The system is flawed but who am I to say such things.

Anyway, I finish officially in 17 days and it's as scary as hell but either way I know that regardless of what my results are, I will be successful. But it will not take away the pain if I do not perform well. However, I will push through my laziness and make sure those results resulted from my hard work and so that I have no one else to blame for my tardy results.

Now I am going to enjoy movie night with my mother.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Ears to the ground

Hey dolls,

So y'all will never guess who called me today. My ex boyfriend! Like why call me after you flat out disrespected me just because you were in front of your 'boys'.  Ugh! it's like I don't even want to talk about it but I have to because I am still pondering on the possibilities of him monitoring me. I wouldn't even put it past him. Like seriously, His stalking tendencies have no bounds. It is creepy. At one point I found the whole protective cave man alpha male protect whats mine 'me tarzarn, you jane' bullshit kinda cute but now it is creepy.

rant over

Dante's Inferno

Why hello there good looking ...

So today I was speaking to my English lecturer about the different ways Macbeth could have been interpreted  if religion played a huge part in it. Things such as Macbeth getting the prophecy from maybe an angel rather than the 'weird sisters' then how would that have changed the story. We spoke about it for a while , throwing ideas in and out of the pot.

However, I asked about Dante's Inferno only because I read Gabriel's Inferno and the whole book literally revolved around their fascination of Dante's love for Beatrice and all that. It boggled my mind but then I noticed the genius of it all. The author basically in some way retold the story with a modern twist.

Now Dante's Inferno is a classic and very popular and also very old!. Dante speaks about his journey through hell (because Inferno is Latin for 'Hell') and the seven stages to it. It is very interesting and I would recommend it if you love to read like me.

There's also a challenge for you. There are a lot of literal allusions (references to other texts) in everyday life. When someone says something or you read something and they make allusions, research it to get a better understanding of what they are saying. For me personally, it makes the reading experience a whole lot more exciting!

well hello there

Hello readers ,

so I tried to update you sooner but then I couldn't remeber my password. awakard.

Anyway , so umm i've got my exams coming up soon which is freaking me out but praying to the Lord Almighty to grant me favour and grace.
I 've decided to take a new turn with my page. I don't know how many of you are into books but I was thinking that maybe, because I read so much and I love to read, that I would do some reviews on most of the books that I've read so far. Some new releases and some old as well as old time classics such as Frankenstein and Carter's Vintage collections and take it apart and try to put a modern twist to it. It would be very exciting.

But yes, ummm what has been going on in my life?

Well ... so we just hosted the SUVA awards at my collge (Student Union Variety Awards) which was incredible. I hosted the show with one of the coolest staff member Mr GHill. It was a really great night and after the show we had some positive feedback which was amazing as well. I had another student come up to me and say how inpirational I was to her! (No bullshit). I was so touched I felt to cry. But of course I did not.
Also I went to national conference in Sheffield. For those who don't know what it is, its a national conference where student unions from all over come to one place for 3 days and decide and vote on issues concerning students as a whole. That was called NUS National Conference. NUS standing for National Union of Students. Their new president is Ms Toni Pearce. She's super friendly and just a great person as a whole. I'm super excited that she got the position.

Okay , so I have applied to universities and got some offers. I will reveal my uni of choice after I get my results and know for sure that I will be going there. But I am super excited for the move. I'm currently doing my budget and shopping for things I'm going to need as well which is majorly fun and expensive.

But enough from me,
I will make sure I write more often. I'm not even going to lie, I don't think it will be any time soon as exams have started or soon to be started. However, during the summer is when exciting stuff tend to happen anyway, so I'm pretty sure you'll be excited to know what I will get up to. And if you're up to it, email me the things that you will be doing and I will give you a shout out. My email address is irenejehu@hotmail.co.uk . If you also agree (as it would be totally confidential between you and I), with your agreement I could maybe share this info on here? whatcha think.
